Drawing Knowledge
An exhibition of rare architectural drawings of Rajasthan's forts and palaces, with walkthroughs, a panel and workshops.
What can we learn about place and people from a detailed drawing?
This exhibition presents one of the largest private collections of architectural drawings of Rajasthan's forts and palaces, from Jaisalmer and Amber to Mehrangarh and Hawa Mahal. Each drawing is the product of years of research and meticulous documentation, recording the walls, courtyards, and water systems that shaped life inside these buildings.
Comprehensive documentation of such places is increasingly scarce. Made possible by the mentorship of Kulbhushan Jain and Minakshi Jain, the collection brings this accumulated knowledge into the public domain. It gives researchers, students, and curious visitors access to study the details closely, now and for generations to come.
