Baseqat Collection

Baseqat: The Palm Tree Exhibition presents the palm tree as a living legacy of the Arabian Peninsula — a symbol that has shaped cultural identity, livelihoods, and the landscape over generations.

The exhibition focuses on the date palm and its deep-rooted role in Saudi heritage. It highlights how the tree connects communities through shared material traditions, aesthetic values, and storytelling. The exhibition traces the journey of the palm from roots to fronds, showing how every part of the tree has been reinterpreted by contemporary designers, craftsmanship, and artistic.

Works on display blend inherited knowledge with new techniques, revealing the palm's evolving potential in craft, design, and contemporary practices.

As a traveling exhibition, Baseqat is envisioned to evolve beyond its home venue — extending the narrative of the palm tree to international audiences. Its modular spatial language, portable content, and interpretive experiences allow it to adapt to diverse cultural settings, offering host institutions a platform to explore cross-cultural dialogue, contemporary craft, and the enduring relevance of ancestral knowledge.
