About Swae Lee

Born Khalif Malik Ibn Shaman Brown in Inglewood, California and raised in Tupelo, Mississippi, Swae Lee spent part of his childhood homeless with his brother and future Rae Sremmurd partner Slim Jxmmi, before the two began crafting music together at Tupelo High School. After relocating to Atlanta and signing with Mike Will Made-It's Ear Drummer Records and Interscope, Rae Sremmurd burst onto the scene in 2014 with No Flex Zone and quickly became one of hip-hop's most omnipresent duos, scoring smash hits including No Type, Come Get Her, and their 2016 chart-topper Black Beatles.
