Support Structures

Support Structures is a thematic group exhibition exploring how infrastructure, community, and relationships form an indispensable part of life and of any creative practice.

In light of Kunstnernes Hus' role as a support structure for art and artists for nearly a century, all participating artists engage with different forms of support structures—whether social, emotional, functional, or structural.

Emphasizing relationships rather than discrete units, the works in the exhibition will inhabit the whole building, including the exhibition galleries, foyer and facade, dissolving conventional boundaries between craft, industrial design and art, between form and function, and between the frame and the work of art.
