An evening of old stones and folklore in Wirksworth: Isy Suttie in conversation, music, Morris dancing and tales for the Listening Stone.

Taking its name from a remote Peak District rock formation, Trinnacle is a special evening celebrating standing stones, megalithic structures and stone circles through stories, talks and performance. The event will take place at Wirksworth Town Hall on Saturday 24th October from 5pm.

Trinnacle will be headlined by comedian and actor, Isy Suttie (currently appearing in the latest series of hit Channel 4 comedy show, Taskmaster), in conversation with Derbyshire Life's resident folklorist, Richard Bradley (aka Weird Derbyshire). Among other things, they'll discuss a shared love of spooky stuff and their favourite local folk tales.

We'll have live music from Strange Loop - the new solo project from Sophie Barkerwood, best known as part of the acclaimed electronic trio, Haiku Salut. Expect microtonal sounds, playful experiments with time, music shaped by curiosity and dramatic piano.

Founder of The Megalithic Portal, Andy Burnham, will talk about creating and maintaining the world's largest Megalithic online database and there'll be short films from Peak-Disctrict artist-antiquarian collective, Scientific Rambles, exploring a weird zone of local ancient sites.

And if all of that wasn't enough, there'll be music and dancing from Wirksworth's very own Border Morris side, T'Owd Man Morris, a curated selection of books for sale from the town's newest independent bookseller, Hestia Books, and the opportunity to tell your strange tales to our megalithic structure, The Listening Stone.
