Analog RISO
Hands-on risograph scanning session: experiment with analog riso editing commands and leave with 5 collective risoprints.
An in-depth play session with the risograph scanner
Maximize your knowledge of analog riso scanning experimentation!
No laptops.
Bring whatever you'd like to scan (a lock of hair, a slingshot, your face), and learn how to use the old-school riso command operations on the display screen to produce experimental risoprints.
This is a collaborative session! Participants will learn the riso-editing functions, including density control, curve manipulation, halftone control, and other editor collage commands all directly on the riso machine without touching a computer. Depending on the number of students, this course may be between 2-3 hours.
Everybody will leave with 5 risoprinted copies of a collective visual experiment.
About the instructor Analog RISO is taught by Tolomeo (they/them), founder of Landline Press .
Tolomeo has used riso as a primary method of expression since 2020, and has risoprinted and published two books through Revolting Press and Landline. Tolomeo has a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Washington University, and plays the Irish bagpipes (badly).
