Love Letters is a production from New Wave Arts in collaboration with Creative Atlas, directed by Gera Sandler, and starring Lev Grzhonko and Maria Atlas. A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters follows the lifelong correspondence between two childhood friends — Melissa and Andy — whose relationship unfolds through decades of letters filled with humor, longing, and heartbreak. Through words that are too honest to forget and too personal to destroy, the play captures how love can exist even when life keeps people apart. This bilingual production, brings new intimacy and emotional depth to Gurney’s Pulitzer-nominated work. Blending Russian expressiveness and American restraint, it explores how language, memory, and human connection transcend borders and time.
