Two guided tours followed by try-outs of Ugo Dehaes’s soft robotics performance at Pilar on 19 October
19 OCT AT PILAR: SOFT TISSUES TRY OUT BY UGO DEHAES
In his previous robot performances, @ugodehaes replaced his dancers with robots because it was cheaper, and because it made it easier for him to archive his performances. As a result, he discovered the ease of working with robots: they don’t complain, do exactly what you ask them to, and think in ones and zeros. Socially speaking, that’s very convenient.
In Soft Tissues, Ugo uncovers the soft, fragile and insecure little robotic beings hidden beneath the hard shell of robots. For this project, Ugo is exploring the world of ‘soft robotics’ in collaboration with the VUB.
"Soft Tissues" takes place twice.
