About the Programme:
It's all about drawing! As part of Summerhall's Creative Learning programme, we'll be offering a broad series of drawing workshops each Sunday, led by Jules Bradbury. Specialising in this most accessible medium, Jules is an artist passionate about opening ways of drawing for all. These relaxed Sunday afternoon sessions are dedicated to the many different aspects drawing.
By looking closely at the materials and techniques work of a particular artist, we will explore interesting ideas and develop new skills in a supportive atmosphere. Whether you're looking to sharpen your observation skills, build your mark-making or simply let loose your imagination, there is something for you!
About Jules Bradbury:
Jules Bradbury is a visual artist and experienced educator, based in Scotland. She is fascinated by the power of drawing to form knowledge, about ourselves and the wider world. She understands drawing as a process of connection. Recent years have seen Jules teaching many aspects of drawing and low-tech printmaking to art & design students at Heriot Watt University, as well as running many workshops for the public.
Along with residencies, workshops continue to be important elements of her practice. The Skin has Eyes (her body of work around haptic drawing) will be on exhibition at Summerhall Arts from 23rd January to 21st March 2027.
