The National Centre for the Performing Arts in Mumbai is a multi-venue cultural centre founded in 1969 that programs music, dance, theatre, film, literature and photography. The campus includes several theatres and public spaces and stages a wide range of Indian and international work across genres including orchestral concerts, opera, jazz and chamber music. The centre presents hundreds of events annually and runs educational and archival activities, including a specialised performing arts library and workshops. It hosts festivals, touring orchestras and multidisciplinary festivals, with regular programming in theatre, dance, Indian and Western classical music, film screenings and photography.
