Zone Libre 2027
Festival · Bastia
Zone Libre 2027 returns to its historic period in January, turning Bastia into a territory of listening for a week. Concerts and performances take place in the main hall of the Centre culturel Alb'Oru, whose floor-level stage allows the audience to share the space with the artists.
Performances, installations and exhibitions extend across partner venues in the city, among them the salons of the Hôtel Central, the Musée de Bastia, the Centre culturel Una Volta, the Galerie Joal and the municipal library. The sound installations at the Musée de Bastia open to the public on Tuesday 12 January.
The festival is dedicated to creative music and sound writing in all their forms: improvised and experimental music, electronic and acousmatic music, sound art, audiovisual performance, spatialised and immersive listening. Each edition connects artists from Corsica with guests from Europe, the Mediterranean and beyond, and builds bridges with partner festivals and organisations, from Brussels to Vilnius and Seoul.
Transmission is at the heart of the project: masterclasses, workshops with schools, the conservatoire and local communities, encounters with the artists and listening walks with the inhabitants of Bastia. Entry is free, so that the festival remains open to all. In autumn 2026, the Sperienza series (Zone Libre Experience) prefigures the festival with three intimate monthly events in the salon of the Hôtel Central, without a stage, close to the audience.
Zone Libre is supported by the Collectivité de Corse, the Ville de Bastia and the Onda (Office national de diffusion artistique), among other partners.
