Two‑hour hands‑on patternmaking workshop to reverse engineer a garment into a sewable pattern
Learn the magic of patternmaking with fully guided instruction and all materials provided. With just a BYO sketch, photo, or real item, you will be guided over 2 hours on how to effectively reverse engineer into a sewable pattern!
What You Will Learn
• The 3 Basic Principles of Patternmaking: Dart manipulation, Added fullness, and Contouring. Understanding these 3 facets unlocks a world of design possibilities.
• How to 'read' a garment: understanding the construction, drape, textile choice, and overall silhouette of your inspo piece.
• Applying these techniques into making a real pattern that can be sewn after class, including how to correctly mark and measure your pattern to get the most accurate fit.
Who Can Participate
• Any skill level! This workshop is perfect for complete beginners, hobby sewists, cosplayers, fashion students, nostalgic nerds, etc.
