Winter Hike
A 2-mile winter hike at Independence Dam State Park. Part of the ODNR Winter Hike Series.
This is a 2-mile guided hike in partnership with the Friends of Independence Dam State Park along the Maumee River and through adjacent woodlands. Meet at the CCC Shelter. Stay for a warm fire, cocoa, and coffee after the hike. Dress appropriately for the weather and conditions, . Bring water and snacks if needed. Only extreme conditions will cancel this hike. Pets must be on a leash. Participants will receive a 2026-27 Winter Hike Series sticker, while supplies last.
Recreation programs and activities can be inherently dangerous. Participants accept and acknowledge that any injury or property damage that occurs during a program or activity is not the responsibility of ODNR or its naturalist educators. Children should be accompanied by an adult.
