Windrush Day Community Supper Social
Free community supper with Caribbean food, poetry by Shaniqua Benjamin and gentle participatory activities to celebrate Windrush Day
Join us for a FREE evening of food and entertainment to celebrate Windrush Day and the contributions the Windrush generation and their descendants have made to our community. This is also a chance to take part in gentle creative activities that will help you to get to know your neighbours.
This Community Supper Social will be hosted by poet Shaniqua Benjamin who will be performing some of her work. Published by Ink, Sweat & Tears and Magma, Shaniqua was Croydon’s first Poet Laureate from 2020–24, and her work has been displayed in the National Portrait Gallery.
South Norwood Community Kitchen will provide a free selection of delicious Caribbean food. Please note that the evening will involve some simple participatory activities encouraging conversation amongst diners. Our Community Supper Social is open to everyone to attend. Please note all children aged under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.
If you have any access requirements, please give us a call on 020 8251 0184 or email us on bookings@stanleyarts.org and we will be happy to help!
