On tour from New York City, modular synthesist Matthew Ryals presents a live improvised solo set for TURNmusic. Recognized for his highly tactile approach to the modular synthesizer, Ryals has developed a distinctive personal language on the instrument that traverses microsounds, texture, noise, acoustic-like timbres, environmental sounds, and a wide dynamic range. All sounds are generated live on the synthesizer with no prepared samples, sequences, or playback recordings.
