Threads Project: Ascension

UNCG Threads Student Organization presents the Project: Ascension 2026 fashion show.

Project: Ascension is Threads' runway theme for our 2026 Fashion Show. The theme invites designers and artists in to re-examine why we dress the body. Susan B. Kaiser stated in her work The Social Psychology of Clothing (1985), that we dress the body for three mains reasons: protection, adornment, and communication. Designers are tasked to look at how they can use the body as a medium for art while addressing one of the three reasons why we dress the body. Project: Ascension takes place in the future, where silhouettes, styles, and fashion take on a whole different meaning. Come join us on the runway on November 16, 2026 in the Elliott University Center's Cone Ballroom from 6-8pm EST.
