In the mystical Blue Mountains, a paramedic who has spent a lifetime answering other people's calls for help is forced to confront the one he has spent years avoiding – his own.
As memories long buried begin to resurface, The Memory Mirror explores the quiet weight carried by those who dedicate their lives to caring for others. Tender, deeply human and ultimately hopeful, the play examines trauma, memory loss, ageing and the enduring power of community to help us find our way back to ourselves.
Developed as part of the Gasworks Script Lab, The Memory Mirror is a tribute to the carers in our society who stand beside us in our darkest moments, often while carrying unspoken burdens of their own.
Directed by Drew Tingwell, the cast includes Gabriel Partington, Don Bridges, Margot Knight, Jim Daly, Anthea Davis and Christine Husband.
The production runs approximately 75 minutes with no interval. Recommended for ages 15+. Content warning: references to trauma, memory loss and suicide.
