The Crown Maker
Portland Opera performs The Crown Maker, celebrating the life of crown maker and healer Eva Castellanoz — free for families and youth.
The Portland Opera is coming to The Rex Theater on November 11th and will be performing The Crown Maker!
The Crown Maker Summary:
Eva Castellanoz worked the fields alongside her parents after
immigrating from Mexico--but that was before she discovered her
true calling--she was a crown maker. Through her heritage and
artistry she became a healer, binding the hearts of her community
while surviving heartbreak of her own.
The Drexel H. Foundation's Celebrating Latinos Who Shaped Our Community project is bringing rural Latino residents and folks with diverse backgrounds opportunities to inspire & share how their culture has impacted our community. Eva Castellanoz will be one of the featured Latinos on the permanent outdoor display at Vale's Grand Opera House. This opera was created by the Portland Opera and is targeted toward families & youth.
Eva is a Nyssa resident and, "through her heritage and artistry, became a healer finding the hearts of her community." The Portland Opera has created this opera to tell about and celebrate the life of Eva Castellano.
This will be a FREE, open-to-the-public show!
