Discover the history of microbes and the science of antimicrobial resistance at this free public workshop.

Come to the SuperbugZone to find out all about the history of microbes, current and future treatments and more.. .

Antibiotics, since their discovery have been great tools for the treatment of bacterial infections throughout history. Recent trends predict that antimicrobial resistance will lead to more deaths than cancer by 2050 (approx.. 10 million each year!). Current therapeutic treatments are becoming less effective, necessitating new scientific approaches for new treatment options.

Despite the global health threat, most people are not aware of how they can help in their lives, or even what it means.

This workshop aims to address the issue of antimicrobial resistance and the bacteria that cause this, while educating the public that not all bacteria are bad, and most are good for us.
