An evening with author Nikesh Shukla
We're delighted to welcome Nikesh Shukla to the shop, straight from his reading at Across the Page at the Literaturhaus. Few writers have done as much to change who gets to tell stories in British publishing, as the editor of The Good Immigrant , as co-founder of The Good Literary Agency, and as a teacher who has helped so many new writers believe their stories matter.
About Nikesh Shukla: Nikesh is a novelist and screenwriter, the author of Coconut Unlimited (shortlisted for the Costa First Novel Award), Meatspace and The One Who Wrote Destiny , and of the memoir Brown Baby , longlisted for the Jhalak Prize. He edited the bestselling The Good Immigrant and co-edited The Good Immigrant USA with Chimene Suleyman.
His YA novels include Run, Riot , The Boxer and Stand Up , and he has written Your Story Matters , a book on writing, and The Council of Good Friends for younger readers. He writes Spider-Man for Marvel, is executive producer and co-lead writer of the forthcoming BBC series Anisha, Accidental Detective , and has worked in writers' rooms for HBO, Prime, BBC, Sky and Apple.
He is a fellow of the Sundance Institute and the Royal Society of Literature, teaches for Faber Academy and lectures at the University of Bristol. His fourth novel for adults is due in 2028.
