Showcase your skills in our grooming competition, connect with fellow industry professionals, and take your grooming craft to the next level. Whether you're competing or cheering on your peers, it's set to be a fantastic day celebrating WA's groomers!

Morning Classes: Terrier/Gundog/Combination and Salon Fusion Afternoon: Poodle and All Other Purebreeds Model Dog judging during lunch and results in PM Best in Show 4.45pm

Competition Classes

• Novice

• Less than 2 years of professional grooming experience.

• Has never placed 1st in a competition class with more than 4 competitors.

• Open

• More than 2 years of professional grooming experience.

• Has not placed 1st in a competition class with more than 3 competitors.

• Advanced

• Seasoned professionals and experienced competitors with multiple 1st-place wins or top placements under their belt.

Competition Classes

• Poodle Class

• Purebred Poodles only.

• Must be styled in recognized breed-specific trims (e.g., Continental, Lamb Clip) - spray up permitted

• All Other Pure Breeds (AOPB)

• Open to all purebred dogs (excluding Poodles).

• Clipping is permitted, but the dog's coat must be predominantly scissored to achieve the finished breed standard style.

• Includes double-coated breeds (carding and deshedding techniques permitted).

• Salon Fusion

• A creative hybrid class combining Asian Fusion styling with Salon Freestyle - please note these classes are combined for Springfest 2026 due to time limitations

• Flared legs, teddy heads, and creative expressions are encouraged and permitted.

• Light non-toxic chalking / color accents and coat carving are permitted.

• Classic salon freestyle applies - eg turning poodle into bedlington or cavoodle into schnauzer etc

• Terrier/Gundog/Combination Coat

• Carding, hand stripping and scissorwork preferred but clipping permitted

• PLEASE NOTE - This class is combined for Springfest 2026 purely due to time limitations,

• Model Dog

• To be completed prior to Springfest and submitted on the day. All entries to be anonymous.

• Categories are Purebred, Creative and Model dog head only.
