Spring Rope Jam
Drop-in community rope jam for freestyle shibari practice, supervision and film screenings at Grass Roots St Kilda.
Let's keep the rope flowing and go freestyle this Winter!
This is an opportunity to experiment, learn and collaborate with others. Feel free to tie on your own, with your partner, friend or someone new, ask questions or just watch.
This is the first of our seasonal rope jams on the southside housed at the beautiful venue Grass Roots in St Kilda. An ex flour mill with a red beam running through the centre of the room for suspension, including floor mats and mirrors and curtains that enter into a chill out zone. Light snacks and tea and water provided.
We welcome KinkDojo.com in a collaborative effort to support the rope jam. They will be setting up a projector for a cinema area to watch shibari videos showcasing well known senseis from Japan and around the world.
REMEMBER:
• This is a relaxed event for people pursuing their rope practice, open to all levels including observers.
• This is not a lesson. Organisers will supervise and answer questions and provide suggestions, but they will not be teaching.
• This is not intended to be a party — the focus is practice and socialising.
Limited spots available — doors open at 13:00, last entry at 16:00. Concluding at 17:00.
GUIDELINES:
Everyone is welcome. PRM is an all inclusive group who welcome people of all rope experience, gender identities, orientations, ages, roles and walks of life. Attendees are expected to respect others.
Consent is the cornerstone of safe and fun shibari. Consent must be voluntarily and enthusiastically given by everyone involved, who must be in a sound state of mind and have sufficient information to make informed decisions. Shibari has inherent risks that participants must accept; if in doubt ask before doing something. Don't touch anyone or their rope without verbal permission and complete pre-negotiations before practice. Supervisors reserve the right to interrupt a scene if they feel serious or imminent bodily danger may be present.
Participate at an appropriate risk level. If you suspend, ensure your suspension lines and upline management are on point. PRM uses Risk Aware Consensual Kink (RACK) and Safe Sane Consensual (SSC).
