Small Isles

Fully seated. Seating is first come, first served.
Small Isles was founded by guitarist Jim Fairchild as a way of creating scores for films that existed only in his imagination. After a period of dormancy, the project returned to life in the Spring of 2026, when Fairchild was joined by friends Mikael Jorgensen (Wilco), Scott Hirsch (Hiss Golden Messenger), and Jeremy Turner (Metropolitan Opera Orchestra).
Over the course of two evenings, the four musicians gathered in Ojai, California to make music at Hotel El Roblar. Those encounters moved somewhere between composition and intuition, stillness and motion. The second night was recorded and became “I Still Hope the Last Face I See Is You”, Small Isles’ first album in its present form.
Small Isles is interested in creating the conditions for a story to appear. Music for drifting, listening, remembering, imagining. Music that suggests some place. Wherever that may be. Wherever you need to go.
