Sex Shop Mushrooms is a must-see band on the Parisian grunge scene, known for its unbridled and powerful style. Formed in late 2022, the band consists of Timothée LEPORINI (vocals/guitar), Giulia VINCIGUERRA (drums), Victor CRESSEAUX (guitar), and Cyprien ORTUNO (bass). Their mantra, “BREAK NORMS, SOUND LOUD,” resonates through every note, every riff, and every performance, cementing their place in the underground music scene.
Blending 90s grunge with modern energy, their debut album “God Doesn’t Exist,” released independently in October 2024, quickly made a splash. With half a million streams and hundreds of physical albums sold, the album has been widely praised by critics, notably by Rolling Stone, Libération, and Oui FM. It’s impossible not to compare them to a small, unknown band from Seattle in the ’90s, whether in their lyrics, vocals, or their raw yet haunting music. Sex Shop Mushrooms is the very embodiment of the grunge revival in France.
The band has taken the main stage at Xtreme Fest, performed at the Fête de l’Huma as the opening act for Pogo Car Crash Control, and played at several legendary Parisian venues (La Boule Noire, Point Éphémère). After 100 shows across France, the band has captured the attention of a large portion of the French grunge scene.
