I would like to invite you to join our 4-week Self-Directed Support (SDS) Workshop Programme . These sessions are designed to help unpaid carers and supported people gain a better understanding of SDS, their rights, and the support available. The programme will also provide an opportunity to connect with others and share experiences in a supportive environment.
Workshop Dates and Topics
Week 1: Introduction to SDS 19 th October 10:30am to 12:00pm
Location: Sycamore House, Livingston
An introduction to Self-Directed Support, including the four SDS options and how SDS can help provide more choice and control.
Week 2: Your Rights & Outcomes 26th October 10:30am to 12:00pm
Location: Sycamore House, Livingston
Learn about your rights within the SDS process, including choice, control, involvement in decision-making, and accessing information and support.
Week 3: Preparing For An Assessment? 2nd November 10:30am to 12:00pm
Location: Sycamore House, Livingston
Understanding assessments, personal outcomes, support planning, and how to prepare for conversations with professionals.
Week 4: Moving Forward 9th November
10:30am to 12:00pm
Location: Sycamore House, Livingston
An opportunity to reflect on learning, share experiences, ask questions, and build ongoing peer support networks.
The workshops will be friendly, informal and interactive, with plenty of opportunities for discussion and questions.
