Samba Beans #2

Celebrating democracy's historic victory in Brazil with live samba, feijoada and Brazilian energy in the heart of Edinburgh!

Samba Beans #2 – Celebrating Democracy, the Brazilian Way! 🇧🇷🥁✊

Democracy prevailed. The people made history. And now it's time to celebrate — the Brazilian way!

Four years after our first Samba Beans gathering in 2022, we're back in Edinburgh to celebrate another extraordinary moment in Brazil's democratic history! In Brazil's 2026 presidential election, left-wing Workers' Party leader Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva secured a historic re-election victory over far-right candidate Flávio Bolsonaro, overturning a first-round defeat through an extraordinary wave of popular mobilisation in just over three weeks. More than an election result, it was a celebration of the power of collective action, the strength of working people and the importance of defending democracy. For us, Samba Beans is about celebrating that spirit: the hope, determination and belief that ordinary people have the power to shape their country's future. It's about standing up for democracy, rejecting fascism and authoritarianism, and remembering that progress is never something we can take for granted. And what better way to celebrate than with samba? 🥁❤️ Just like our first edition in 2022, we're bringing people together in Edinburgh for an afternoon of music, food, dancing and celebration!

🎶 What to expect Live samba and Brazilian music – plenty of rhythm, dancing and good vibes! Traditional Brazilian feijoada – prepared by Tá na Mesa, a small business run by local Brazilian entrepreneurs. Food will be available to purchase separately. A proper Brazilian celebration – great music, great company and an afternoon filled with the joy and energy of Brazil!

❤️ A non-profit celebration Samba Beans is a non-profit event, organised by the community, for the community. Ticket proceeds will be used solely to cover the costs of organising and running the event. --- Whether you're Brazilian, a friend of Brazil or simply someone who loves samba and wants to be part of the celebration, you're welcome! Bring your friends, your comfiest shoes and your best energy. See you at Samba Beans #2! 🇧🇷🥁✊
