Welcome to Rough Draft Room — a monthly writers' group in Medway.
Led by creative strategist & writer Ally Sinyard, Rough Draft Room is a relaxed, creative space to work at your own pace with a community of like-minded writers from the local area. You'll find us at The Bohemian in Chatham Intra on the last Tuesday of every month.
[Note: From October, we will be running twice a month where possible, so keep an eye on our social media and Eventbrite pages.]
What to expect from an average Rough Draft Room session: - Warm-up writing exercises - Focused writing time to develop personal projects (short stories, novels, poems, scripts, etc.) - Writing prompts and inspiration - The option to share your writing and give/receive feedback in a group
Each evening session will run for about 90 minutes (or until closing, if you're in the zone).
Bring a pen and a notebook/some paper. A screen-free space is encouraged as handwriting fosters deeper thought and creativity, but it's OK if you prefer to work on a laptop.
Rough Draft Room is proud to be a free event - but we'd encourage buying something from the bar. It's the best way to support The Bohemian for providing this space to us.
