The sensory workshop & subsequent exhibition is called "Planting the Seeds of Hope”.
Over the first 90 minutes of the workshop, author, artist and facilitator Beatrice Imbert will lead the participants from station to station to create their own story board or art piece mostly in silence and quiet conversations. They will leave with a take home seed meditation card. In the last 30 minutes, we will complete a final work in a sacred circle before they head home. Our request is that their beautiful work remain on display in Coal Creek Art Space as an acknowledgement to them - to be exhibited for the 16 days of Activism pop up exhibition. (20 November until 1 December) People who come along will be taught how to make a Seed Meditation and a Gratitude wheel. They will also have the opportunity should they wish to take it up to write a short letter or poem or answer a couple of questions in the private booth. The themes of Planting Seeds of Hope will include nature, gardening and real seeds which we will work with that will be part of the works we do together plus a surplus of my own seed work. Beatrice works a lot with seeds - they are a wonderful metaphor for life from birth to death and rebirth as well - thoughts, ideas, poems and botanicals. There will be music and scents as a calming foundation as well as a chai or cacao.
Part of South Gippsland Shire Council's 16 Days of Activism program for 2026.
