Recording Basics
A hands-on beginner workshop in recording music from synths, drum machines and samplers to your laptop, with support from MESS facilitators.
Recording Basics is an introductory workshop for anyone wanting to start capturing their musical ideas. Designed for complete beginners, this is the place to learn about the fundamental tools, workflows and creative possibilities of recording sounds from hardware instruments (such as synthesisers, drum machines and samplers) using your laptop.
Using the MESS collection and with hands-on support by their incredible facilitators, participants will work through the recording path from instrument to laptop and build a working knowledge of all the important steps in between.
No prior knowledge needed, just your laptop. Dive in alongside fellow curious makers and break through the technical barrier between your musical imagination and that little red 'record' button.
This workshop is for participants aged 18+.
Still not sure if this event is for you? Reach out and ask. The MESS team are very friendly and happy to help clarify if you have any questions.
