A Musical Journey from India to Spain
A Musical Journey from India to Spain
For ten years, RagaMenco has explored the musical pathways connecting India and Spain, bringing together the improvisational traditions of Indian raga with the passion and rhythmic vitality of flamenco and jazz. What began as a meeting of musical cultures has grown into a distinctive language of its own, shaped by a decade of collaboration among Bay Area musicians. Join RagaMenco at the Red Poppy for an evening of ancient traditions, spontaneous conversation, and music continually being reinvented in California.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Ragamenco is a Bay Area ensemble of Spanish, Indian, and American musicians exploring connections among North Indian classical music, flamenco, Jazz Manouche, and improvisational traditions. The group brings sarode, tabla, voice, flamenco guitar, cajón, piano, and double bass into a shared musical language shaped by centuries of cultural migration between South Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas. Ragamenco released its debut EP, Ragamenco!, in 2025, including the singles Bullah, Ragadeña, and Bhromor Koiyo Giya, and continues to perform throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
