About the book:
RaceTrack is a tense, quick-paced murder mystery set in the now-defunct Sheepshead Bay Race Track in 1880 Brooklyn. The lives of Jack (a scrappy female track worker trying to pass as a man), Spiro (a talented but quick-tempered jockey) and Duds (a skilled African-American trainer) become forever intertwined. This ragtag trio of misfits bond in a tale of rich against poor, good versus evil and darkness against light and underdog versus top dog. It’s set in several recognizable Brooklyn locales—like Bay Ridge, Red Hook and Coney Island—as well as a few upstate hamlets like Hudson and Garrison.
