Play Without Ceasing
Play Without Ceasing is a queer, campy, witchy theatrical reckoning with evangelical Christianity, religious trauma, and the rise of Christian nationalism. Written and performed by Wren Phoenix and directed by Ash Marinaccio, this part-docudrama, part-revival, part-queer exorcism turns sermons into performance, testimony into ritual, and religious wreckage into something unruly, funny, furious, and liberating. The play explores faith, queerness, and the messy, liberating process of finding your way out of Christian fundamentalism. It also examines the relationship between Christianity and Project 2025, and how we got to this moment socially and politically. Come to church. Bring your baggage. Leave with your glitter.
