Pi Fun Run

Run. Walk. Skip. Trot. Celebrate Math!

How should one celebrate the world's most famous irrational number?

By traveling 3.14 miles beginning at exactly 3:14 PM , of course.

Join UNC Asheville and Marvelous Math Club for an afternoon celebrating math, movement, community, and Pi Day . Run the course. Walk it. Skip part of it. Trot with friends. This is a fun run rather than a race for a personal best: all paces are welcome.

And because pi sounds suspiciously like pie , we'll celebrate at the finish line with pie. Your miles add up to something bigger Proceeds from the Pi Day Fun Run support Marvelous Math Club , a partnership of UNC Asheville, Asheville City Schools, and the Asheville Housing Authority. At Pisgah View Community Center, elementary-age participants, our Math Leaders, gather each week with university students and community members to explore mathematics, play games, build relationships, and practice leadership.

Marvelous Math Club begins with a simple idea: mathematics can be joyful, creative, social, and something every young person can claim as their own.
