Molecular

Molecular is a non-profit audiovisual event where science, visual art and electronic music come together. OT301 becomes an immersive club environment with music and live visuals built from scientific imagery, simulations and research. A different way to experience science through sound, movement and visuals.

From research to the dance floor

Molecular was created by a group of students and researchers from the University of Amsterdam who wanted to bring scientific imagery outside the academic world. Simulations, microscopic structures and other research material are reinterpreted as live visuals and incorporated into an audiovisual club experience, giving scientific material a new context where curiosity, music and visual art can meet.

A non-profit initiative

Molecular is organised entirely as a non-profit project. Its aim is to create an accessible meeting point between science, art and Amsterdam’s music scene, bringing researchers, students, artists and the wider public together outside their usual environments. Proceeds from this edition will be donated to Dierenopvang Amsterdam (DOA).
