Meteor Watch!
Event Description: Join Conservation Collier for a night under the stars at Pepper Ranch Preserve to watch for the Geminid meteor shower, one of the year's most active meteor showers! The Geminids peak December 13–14, offering a chance to see bright, fast-moving meteors streak across the sky. Under ideal conditions, up to 120–150 meteors may be visible per hour. We'll spend the evening exploring the night sky and watching for meteors while enjoying the wide-open views the preserve has to offer. Learn about Pepper Ranch Preserve as we take in the sights above one of Collier County's natural areas. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, get comfortable, and look up! Meteor sightings are not guaranteed, but there's plenty to discover in the night sky. Download a Night Sky app ahead of time!
Please note: Meteor sightings depend on viewing conditions, including cloud cover and light pollution, and are never guaranteed. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, dress comfortably for the weather, and get ready to look up!
