MEAT #201
Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament night with a standard competitive ruleset — 4 stocks, 8-minute timed sets and stage striking.
Melee Ruleset Melee Game Settings Stocks: 4 stocks Time Limit: 8:00 minutes
Melee Stage List Neutral Stages Battlefield Yoshi's Story Dream Land Fountain of Dreams Pokémon Stadium
Counter-pick Stages Final Destination
Melee Details Striking: Players eliminate stages from the Neutral stage list until there is one stage remaining. The first player strikes the first stage. Then the next player strikes two stages. Then the first player strikes one more stage and the remaining stage is used for the first game of the set.
Stage Bans: After each game of the set, before counter-picking, the player who won the previous game may ban one stage from the stage list. This rule is not in effect for best-of-5 sets. Stage bans affect each player individually.
Stage Clause: A player may not counter-pick any stage they previously won on during the set, unless agreed upon by the opponent. Wobbling and Freeze Glitch are banned. Ledge Grab Limit: 60 ledge grabs. If a player is being accused of stalling by ledge planking (which is repeatedly re-grabbing the ledge in order to maintain ledge invincibility in order to avoid confrontation), then after the game's completion at the results screen, the in-game statistic "Cliffhangers" will show the amount of ledge grabs by a player. If one player's "Cliffhangers" statistic is greater than the ledge grab limit, the result will be a game loss for that player, regardless of if the game goes to time, and regardless of how many stocks are remaining. If both players have exceeded the ledge grab limit, this rule is disregarded for that game.
Intentional Stalling: The act of stalling, or intentionally making the game unplayable, is banned and at the discretion of the TO.
All incidents are left to the tournament organizers' discretion. Please treat the ruleset, fellow attendants, the venue, and staff with common courtesy and respect.
