A photography exhibition about orphan and abandoned youth, written in bold tattoos. Carrying the untold legacy of post-communist Romania.
Join us for the Chicago opening of Marked for More , a photography exhibition about orphan and abandoned youth aging out of foster care.
Through bold tattoos and intimate portraits, the work carries the untold legacy of post-communist Romania. Each tattoo is a chapter: a loss preserved, a hope drawn into permanence. Centered on the tattoos of young people leaving care, the exhibition opens space for a different narrative, one shaped by dignity and becoming.
The photographs are by Alex Gâlmeanu , one of Romania’s renowned photographers, known for his striking architectural approach to portraiture.
This evening will include an artistic moment and the presence of one of the young people whose story is part of the exhibition.
Your presence supports The Social Incubator’s work with orphan and abandoned youth in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
