IT FELT EMPTY

What happens when survival becomes a performance?

We are taken into Dijana’s world of intolerable suffering, resilience, and unwavering hope as she strives to find her place in life. Forced to navigate circumstances that continually test her strength (and/or sanity), Dijana discovers what it means to survive when going after your dreams leads to your demise.

Raw, moving and deeply human, this startling play explores the masks we wear, the battles others cannot see, and the courage it takes to keep going when life refuses to make things easy.

Step into Dijana’s world and experience a story of survival, identity and hope that asks: how much of ourselves do we perform just to survive?

Lucy Kirkwood’s play is “...both brutal and surreal, as Dijana escapes from a detention center and retreats into an Alice in Wonderland world.” (The Guardian)
