Expoziție New Media de Andrei Botnaru
The exhibition brings together a series of new media installations that explore the line between work and spectator, turning the audience’s presence into the work’s living material. One by one, the body becomes an image broken into thousands of coloured fragments, a shadow that breaks a calm illusion to reveal the reality beneath, or a gesture that draws fluid shapes of light and colour in the air. Each work takes its starting point from an everyday act – to look, to get close and even to jump – and turns it into a visual and ethical catalyst in equal measure.
The common theme is participation: rather than being a distant witness, the audience becomes an active part of the image, as the work’s meaning is built only through the movement, presence or voice of those who encounter it. The installations explore the way in which technology can mediate, distort or amplify first-hand experience – from the act of documenting instead of living, to the need to beautify or anaesthetise reality with filters. The result is a relational art that cannot fully exist without the spectator’s body and will to participate.
