Indigenous Grasses Workshop

Join Britt Silvester for a gentle, hands-on workshop creating butterfly seed balls with Indigenous seeds of local grasses that will grow into the host plants our butterflies need.

In this tactile and playful process, we'll shape small spheres of possibility, each one carrying the promise of colour, movement, and life.

Designed for all ages, this workshop invites children and adults alike to connect with Country and care for Country by supporting local pollinators and ecosystems. By scattering the seed bombs in gardens or overlooked spaces, participants will take part in a quiet act of care, encouraging regeneration, biodiversity, and the soft rewilding of place.

Places limited to 15. Hosted in Platform Arts Rehearsal Space Level 2. This event is part of Geelong Design Week.

Britt Silvester is a contemporary artist based on Torquay Wadawurrung Country Victoria with Yorta Yorta ancestry. Her practice draws inspiration from the natural world and Indigenous cultural heritage, exploring materials and forms that reflect environmental themes and ancestral knowledge.
