Holiday String Ensemble

Taught by Megan Cronin Tucker

It’s that time of year! This ensemble is for folks who love to indulge in holiday music, are at a beginner-ish to intermediate level on a bowed string instrument (violin, viola, cello, bass) and have a willingness to partake in the joyful and exciting realm of jamming as a group. Students will learn the secrets to playing with a multi-instrument, multi-level group successfully.

The instructor has experience teaching violin and viola but all bowed string instruments are welcome. Sheet music will be provided.

Performance opportunity available at the end of term!

Student Testimonials for Megan Cronin Tucker:

"Megan teaches as if she believes everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the pleasure of making music. She is very kind and patient. She listens to her students and asks for feedback. She always comes up with new pieces to work on, so you get better but never bored. There’s never any pressure, she meets you at whatever level you are at."

"What’s so great about Megan’s teaching style, is you feel like you are making music right now! You aren’t just practicing to make music later. I really appreciate her flexibility. She knows how to read her students. I stay motivated because she strikes the perfect balance between keeping it fun and providing a challenge."

"Megan Cronin - Awesome violin and fiddle teacher!!!

If you’ve been playing violin/fiddle for a little while (that is, you can find your way around first position) and you’re ready to make music with others at about the same level, then you should check-out Megan Cronin’s weekly group class at Artichoke Music; Americana for Violin. Megan is a patient, knowledgeable teacher. The classes are relaxed and fun. She starts each term with a fresh batch of very accessible tunes. Megan is always organized and well-prepared."
