Gallery Games

Step into the galleries at Colchester Castle from 24 October to 1 November 2026 and take part in a series of Halloween-themed games during your visit.

Available daily from 10am to 5pm, these self-led activities are perfect for families, friends and visitors of all ages. Challenge each other to a spooky game of Tic Tac Toe, try your luck on Halloween Snakes and Ladders, and enjoy a selection of pumpkin-themed games and activities throughout the galleries.

Designed for casual drop-in play, the games can be enjoyed at your own pace and easily fitted into your visit to the Castle. Whether you're exploring the museum with family or competing with friends, there's plenty of fun to be had along the way.

Suitable for all ages, these activities offer a light-hearted Halloween addition to your day out, though adults may find themselves just as competitive as younger players.

No advance booking is required. The activities are included with Castle admission and are available throughout the day during the event period.

Visitors with a valid annual pass can also take part. Simply ask at Reception when you arrive and staff will point you in the right direction.
