Fran Lebowitz

An evening with Fran Lebowitz

A conversation on culture, art, politics and society – from one of our most perceptive writers.

Fran Lebowitz, the outspoken and beloved cultural, social and political commentator, will be in Paris at the Salle Pleyel on October 28, 2026, for an exceptional event.

In a cultural landscape filled with endless pundits and talking heads, Fran Lebowitz stands out as one of our most insightful voices. Her essays and interviews offer her acerbic views on current events and the media – as well as pet peeves including tourists, baggage-claim areas, after-shave lotion, adults who roller skate, children who speak French, or anyone who is unduly tan.

Most recently seen in the popular Netflix series "Pretend It's a City" (directed by Martin Scorsese), Fran Lebowitz was also the subject if his 2010 documentary "Public Speaking."

Hosted by a special guest, this one-of-a-kind event – conducted in English – will take the form of an onstage conversation with the author, followed by an audience Q&A.

The evening will conclude with an on-site book signing of " The Fran Lebowitz Reader " (French and English editions – Pauvert), presented in partnership with Shakespeare and Company.
