Forum Build

An evening to start a business or build an app, no technical skill required.

Saturday 24 October, 6–10pm at Forum, Kongens gate 24, Ålesund. Show and tell from 9:30–10pm. Snacks, and coffee at the bar.

Got a business idea to test, or one you want to keep working on? Come solo or with a team. Code, no-code, or AI — all welcome.

Culture. Forum exists so that more people in Ålesund can take part in the art, reading and conversation that already happen in the gallery and on the stage. Build something that helps them do that: a way to see what's on and decide to come, a way to follow a season of exhibitions and evenings, or a small product that gets someone who has never been here through the door.

Coffee. Do you have an idea for how to make coffee better? Smarter? Quicker on a busy bar, or clearer for the person who doesn't know what they want? You might build a way to hold an order together from the till to the cup, something that keeps a latte or a tea from getting lost in the rush, or a small product that helps a guest decide before they reach the counter.

Your own. If you have an idea for a business you want to start, or a product you want to launch, bring it and use the evening to get a first version out, even if the plan is still rough.

If you're not sure how a product gets launched, we can spend some of the evening on that too.
