An exhibition of five iconic photographic works from the Cnap collection tracing two centuries of photography's analog history.

For the sixth consecutive year, the Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap) is partnering with Paris photo. As a public institution under the Ministry of Culture, the Cnap actively supports artists and professionals in the field of photography. It expands its collection through acquisitions and public commissions.

This exhibition presents a selection of five iconic works from the Cnap collection. To celebrate two hundred years of inventions, beginning with the first image fixed by Nicéphore Niépce, this sequence explores the ontology of photography by tracing the history of its analog era, offering several thematic approaches: document/fiction, realism/imagination, window/mirror, the archaeology of film photography/paradigm shift, extractivism and chemistry/relationship to the living and the information conveyed by the image through its setting.
