ECHO: Bridging the Gap Real People. Real Conversations. Real Opportunities for Change.
What happens when we stop talking about people who are incarcerated and start listening to them? What happens when we give people the space, tools, and support to work through their experiences, take accountability, and begin seeing something different for themselves?
At The Voices of Power (TVOP), we're seeing what that can look like through ECHO (Every Choice Holds an Opportunity).
ECHO is a nine-week, justice-impacted led and designed program built around honest conversations, personal accountability, emotional wellness, communication, and growth. It's led by people who have experienced incarceration themselves and understand many of the struggles that come with it.
Earlier this year, we brought ECHO into Racine Correctional Institution. Along the way, we saw men open up, challenge their thinking, support one another, and begin having conversations that aren't always easy to have inside prison walls.
That experience reminded us why this work matters and why we need to keep it going.
On November 11th, we're inviting you to be part of that conversation.
ECHO: Bridging the Gap is an opportunity to hear about the work firsthand, learn what we've experienced inside Wisconsin's correctional system, and talk about what it takes to create meaningful opportunities for people who are incarcerated and those preparing to return home.
We'll share where ECHO started, what we've learned, and where we're trying to take it next. You'll also hear why we believe people with lived experience need to be part of leading this work.
We're working to raise $75,000 to support a full year of ECHO at Racine Correctional Institution. This event is an opportunity to bring people together who believe the work is worth supporting and want to help us continue it.
Whether you're familiar with our work or hearing about ECHO for the first time, we hope you'll join us.
Come hear the stories. Ask questions. Meet the people doing the work. And help us build something that gives more people a real opportunity to grow, heal, and move forward.
Because every choice holds an opportunity.
