A student dodgeball tournament hosted by SNPhA and APhA, with pizza, diabetes education tables and a trophy for the winning team.

Dodging Diabetes is a dodgeball tournament hosted by the Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) in collaboration with APhA. The purpose of the event is to provide a fun, interactive activity while giving participants an opportunity to learn more about diabetes and diabetes management.

The tournament will take place in the Koehler Recreation Center and lobby. Teams of five participants will compete in a single-elimination dodgeball tournament. One designated person from each team will be responsible for registering all five team members using the registration form:

Event Setup

The lobby will contain several tables for participants to visit before and during the event. Food and refreshments, including Domino's pizza and cookies, will be available for participants.

Additional tables will provide educational information about diabetes, including informational sheets and a presentation board. Participants will also receive complimentary Dodging Diabetes sweatshirts featuring the event design, which includes the words "Dodging Diabetes," "Dodgeball Tournament," "SNPhA," and "APhA Est. 2022," along with images of three dodgeballs and a glucose monitor.

A separate registration table will be set up for participants to complete the required Agreement to Participate form. Every individual participating in the tournament must complete this form before playing.

7:00–7:30 PM: Participants review the tournament rules and prepare for the competition.

7:30 PM: The dodgeball tournament begins.

After each round: Teams will continue competing until only one team remains.

End of tournament: The final remaining team will be declared the winner and receive a trophy, officially concluding the event. The tournament will follow a single-elimination format, meaning that once a team loses a game, they will be eliminated from the tournament. The event will conclude once the final game has been played and the winning team has received the trophy.
