Kirby Air Riders City Trial double-elimination tournament — 4-player free-for-alls on LAN with a point-based placement system.
City Trial - 4 Player Double-Elimination FFA
Format Double Elimination Tournament will use LAN play 3 games played until grand finals 5 games played for grand finals
4p FFA with a point system for placements per game
Top 2 players advance. Bottom 2 players will be moved to the lower bracket.
Placement scores: 1st: 3 points 2nd: 2 points 3rd: 1 point 4th: 0 points
In the case of a tie, players will play a tiebreaker. Tiebreaker will be a bo1 stadium of 3 choices. Players will RPS, followed by the loser banning one, and the winner banning second, deciding the stadium. The three stadiums are: Kirby Melee 1 Button Rush 1 Gourmet Race
Tiebreakers are to be played by all players with equal scores in positions that will affect advancement (i.e. two players being tied for second, 3 players tied for 1st, 3 players tied for 4th.)
The final score of the tiebreaker will decide final placement in that round.
If 3+ players are in a tiebreaker, all players will vote on their preferred tiebreaker. If players aren't able to decide at this point, a tiebreaker stadium is to be picked at random.
The first-round groupings will be determined by Random Seeding.
From the second round, teams will be seeded into groups based on their results in the previous round according to seeding criteria.
General Rules 5 min per match Stadium Vote is on. No CPU Riders
Banned Stadiums Kirby Melee 1 & 2 Certain Character Special Abilities & Copy Abilities can deal AOE damage, and then completely render opponents from gaining any kills fast enough to combat the explosive abilities. Vs Big Boss Reason being: The player to land the final kill receives an additional 1000 points to their score. So if a player deals barely enough damage + the killing blow: they are likely to win the overall stadium despite minimal involvement.
Machine Camping:
Due to a lack of need in hopping off machines, there is no caveat for machine camping based on intentional dismounting.
Also due to the higher player count & the lack of indication of a kill occurring (referring to those you were not involved with), it is harder to determine if there are people who are on foot looking for a vehicle.
Blatantly and knowingly destroying machines right after killing an opponent is considered machine camping.
It is not considered illegal if you were not involved in killing an opponent as you may not be aware of any players being on foot. Knowingly destroying machines with the knowledge that they are on foot can be considered machine camping, though it is harder to enforce and likely will not result in more than a warning, or a match loss for repeated instances.
In the new game, machines follow players who have had their machine destroyed. There appears to be a shield protecting those machines, but unknown if they are invincible.
It is considered machine camping to knowingly try to destroy a machine that is obviously moving towards a dismounted player.
It is also considered machine camping to follow said machine and attack as soon as the player hops on.
Those who are confirmed to have engaged in machine camping will receive a match loss for a single blatant instance, or a set loss for repeated…
