One Route. Two Pubs. One Great Cause. Join us for the Diggers Dash , an untimed charity run or walk connecting The Athletic Arms (Diggers) in Edinburgh with Diggers Leith, following the Water of Leith Walkway along the way.
We're teaming up with the National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS) for a relaxed, community-focused event, while raising money for a brilliant cause.
This isn't a race. There are no timing chips, no race numbers and no prizes for finishing first. Run, jog or walk the approximately 9K route at your own pace, enjoy the scenery and finish up with a well-earned pint. THE ROUTE The Athletic Arms → Roseburn → Water of Leith Walkway → Dean Village → Stockbridge → Canonmills → Bonnington → Leith → Diggers Leith
Around 9K of one of Edinburgh's finest routes, taking you from one Diggers to the other. HOW IT WORKS There's no mass start, so there's no need to sprint out the door.
Start window: 11am–3pm
Register at The Athletic Arms (Diggers), grab your route information and set off whenever suits you during the four-hour start window.
Take it at your own pace, whether that's a steady run, a jog with pals or a leisurely walk. YOUR £10 ENTRY GOES TO NDCS Entry is £10 per person , with every penny of the entry fee donated directly to the National Deaf Children's Society .
NDCS supports deaf children and young people across the UK, helping improve opportunities for deaf children and their families. A PINT AT THE FINISH Once you've made it to Diggers Leith, hand in your finish token and enjoy a complimentary pint of Stewart Brewing beer .
There'll also be random spot prizes throughout the afternoon, with runners and walkers having an equal chance of winning. The route uses public paths and shared spaces, so please be considerate of other path users, who always have priority.
You'll be responsible for crossing roads safely and taking part at your own risk.
