Creative cup clay workshop
Hands-on pottery class to hand-build and glaze a personal clay cup, materials and firings included
Create a beautiful handmade cup in this creative and fun clay workshop. Imagine sipping your favourite drink and knowing that your hands created the vessel. This class uses templates and hand building to make a clay cup which can then be decorated with underglazes and coloured slips. Around four weeks later the tutor will hand glaze pieces in a clear glaze with optional deep purple, midnight blue or honey to create a unique addition to your kitchen or a heartfelt gift. The finished cup is approximately 8cm x 9cm.
The venue is upstairs in the Alfred Memelink Artspace gallery where we will create overlooking the sea and surrounded by art works. Price includes all materials, glaze and double firings; everything is provided so all you need to do is turn up ready to have some fun and be creative. Tickets are non-refundable but fully transferable to a friend.
Absolute care and expertise is taken with firing and glazing each piece but please note that the nature of clay and kiln firing can be unpredictable; glaze variations can happen, which is part of the excitement.
